Carter Laney is a Level 1 Certified Relationship Coach trained at The Relationship School in Boulder, Colorado and is currently completing his Level 3 training at the Relational Life Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, Carter received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Auburn University and his M.Ed. in Education from U.A.B. Carter has a passion for working with individuals and couples who are motivated to grow and mature through their relationship struggles. With a focus on learning to reframe relationship problems as opportunities, Carter loves to help his clients lean into conflict and pain and learn the lessons that our relationships are trying to teach us. “I believe that relationships are designed to grow us as humans and we can expect that there will be growing pains along the way. Anytime I am invited in to walk alongside a person who is experiencing relationship pain, I am honored and in so doing I am aligned with my true self.” Carter is also a certified facilitator of the Prepare-Enrich Assessment and enjoys working with engaged couples as they approach marriage.
Carter has been struggling, learning, and growing through his own marriage with his wife, JoAnna, for the past 20 years. He often reflects that the time spent in therapy by himself and with his wife has been a huge catalyst for propelling him toward a career in relationship work. Carter continues to enjoy painting portraits as part of his career and enjoys playing music with friends and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
